When to go
The beach-day index peaks in July–August; July scores 9.1/10 with highs of 27 °C, sea at 25.1 °C and 60 mm of rain.
That matches the median for beaches in Croatia in the same month.
At its warmest the water here is 1.2 °C warmer than the Croatia median for August (24.5 °C).
Across the year the sea averages 17.3 °C, cooler than 62% of the coastal beaches in the atlas.
November is the wettest month (123 mm) and July the driest (60 mm); the yearly total is about 1,030 mm.
Daylight runs from 8.8 hours in December to 15.7 hours in June; in mid-July the sun rises at 05:30 and sets at 20:52 local time.
Orientation, sun and shore
The shore faces west (261°). Open water fills about 31% of the horizon close by, which makes it an open stretch of shore.
The sun sets over the sea in August–April; in mid-December it goes down at 16:23 local time on a bearing of 237°.
Straight out to the west the next coast is roughly 80 km away, so waves are mostly wind-driven sea rather than ocean swell.
About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 7 m deep and 24 m at 3 km, a shallow, gently shelving sea floor. Behind the beach the ground is about 8 m above sea level 500 m inland and 12 m at 1.5 km, a flat coastal plain.
Within 1 km, the land is 58% built-up land, 27% grassland and 7% cropland (satellite land-cover map, 2021): an urban beach. Water makes up 43% of that circle.
