When to go
The beach-day index peaks in July–August; August scores 6.3/10 with highs of 22 °C, sea at 19.4 °C and 73 mm of rain.
In August that is 0.3 points above the median of the 121 beaches in Poland covered by this atlas.
At its warmest the water here is 0.7 °C warmer than the Poland median for August (18.7 °C).
Across the year the sea averages 10.0 °C, cooler than 89% of the coastal beaches in the atlas.
July is the wettest month (87 mm) and April the driest (34 mm); the yearly total is about 720 mm.
Daylight runs from 7.4 hours in December to 17.1 hours in June; in mid-August the sun rises at 05:38 and sets at 20:35 local time.
Orientation, sun and shore
The shore faces north-west (325°). Open water fills about 28% of the horizon close by, which makes it an open stretch of shore.
The sun sets over the sea in April–September; in mid-June it goes down at 21:34 local time on a bearing of 314°.
The opposite shore is only about 500 m away to the north-west, which keeps the water sheltered from big waves. The beach is on an island of about 255 km².
About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 2 m deep and 11 m at 3 km, a shallow, gently shelving sea floor. Behind the beach the ground is about 23 m above sea level 500 m inland and 58 m at 1.5 km.
Within 1 km, the land is 51% tree cover, 42% built-up land and 4% bare ground, sand or rock (satellite land-cover map, 2021): an urban beach. Water makes up 19% of that circle.
