In July that is 1.1 points above the median of the 2,246 beaches in Spain covered by this atlas.

At its warmest the water here is 2.8 °C warmer than the Spain median for August (23.2 °C).

Across the year the sea averages 19.1 °C, warmer than 53% of the coastal beaches in the atlas.

September is the wettest month (63 mm) and July the driest (10 mm); the yearly total is about 500 mm.

Daylight runs from 9.5 hours in December to 14.9 hours in June; in mid-July the sun rises at 06:46 and sets at 21:26 local time.

Orientation, sun and shore

JunDecNESW

The shore faces east-north-east (60°). Open water fills about 47% of the horizon close by, which makes it an open stretch of shore.

At no time of year does the sun set over the sea here: sunset bearings run from 240° to 301°, behind the land.

Sunrise is over the sea in every month.

Straight out to the east-north-east about 800 km of open sea lies before the next coast, enough for large swells to build.

About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 10 m deep and 18 m at 3 km, a shallow, gently shelving sea floor. Behind the beach the ground is about 2 m above sea level 500 m inland and 1 m at 1.5 km, a flat coastal plain.

Within 1 km, the land is 57% grassland, 26% built-up land and 9% bare ground, sand or rock (satellite land-cover map, 2021): a partly built-up setting. Water makes up 48% of that circle.
