When to go
The beach-day index peaks in September–October; September scores 8.5/10 with highs of 23 °C, sea at 22.9 °C and 2 mm of rain.
In September that is 0.3 points below the median of the 2,246 beaches in Spain covered by this atlas.
Across the year the sea averages 20.4 °C, warmer than 64% of the coastal beaches in the atlas.
November is the wettest month (21 mm) and June the driest (1 mm); the yearly total is about 110 mm.
Daylight runs from 10.3 hours in December to 14.0 hours in June; in mid-September the sun rises at 07:39 and sets at 20:01 local time.
Orientation, sun and shore
The shore faces south-south-east (155°). Open water fills about 39% of the horizon close by, which makes it an open stretch of shore.
At no time of year does the sun set over the sea here: sunset bearings run from 244° to 297°, behind the land.
Sunrise is over the sea in September–March.
Straight out to the south-south-east the next coast is roughly 120 km away, so waves are mostly wind-driven sea rather than ocean swell. The beach is on an island of about 814 km².
About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 74 m deep and 425 m at 3 km, so deep water starts close to shore. Behind the beach the ground is about 59 m above sea level 500 m inland and 177 m at 1.5 km, so the beach is backed by steep slopes or cliffs.
Within 1 km, the land is 87% bare ground, sand or rock, 7% grassland and 6% built-up land (satellite land-cover map, 2021): open dunes, sand or rock. Water makes up 42% of that circle.
- Bare 87%
- Grass 7%
- Built 6%

Local transport: 1 bus stop within 1.5 km and 3 mapped car parks within 1 km.
