When to go
The beach-day index peaks in June–September; July scores 9.7/10 with highs of 28 °C, sea at 24.8 °C and 7 mm of rain.
In July that is 1.2 points above the median of the 2,246 beaches in Spain covered by this atlas.
At its warmest the water here is 3.0 °C warmer than the Spain median for August (23.2 °C).
Across the year the sea averages 19.4 °C, warmer than 58% of the coastal beaches in the atlas.
November is the wettest month (58 mm) and July the driest (7 mm); the yearly total is about 460 mm.
Daylight runs from 9.5 hours in December to 14.8 hours in June; in mid-July the sun rises at 06:48 and sets at 21:25 local time.
Orientation, sun and shore
The shore faces south-east (145°). Open water fills about 22% of the horizon close by, which makes it a sheltered cove or bay.
At no time of year does the sun set over the sea here: sunset bearings run from 241° to 301°, behind the land.
Sunrise is over the sea in November–February.
The opposite shore is only about 500 m away to the south-east, which keeps the water sheltered from big waves.
About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 13 m deep and 39 m at 3 km. Behind the beach the ground is about 39 m above sea level 500 m inland and 55 m at 1.5 km.
Within 1 km, the land is 48% built-up land, 28% grassland and 14% tree cover (satellite land-cover map, 2021): an urban beach. Water makes up 17% of that circle.
- Built 48%
- Grass 28%
- Tree 14%
- Bare 6%
- Shrub 3%
