Pandawa Beach (or Pandava Beach, Indonesian: Pantai Pandawa; Balinese: ᬧᬲᬶᬄᬧᬵᬡ᭄ᬟᬯ, romanized: Pasih Pāṇḍawa) is located at Badung – South Kuta tourist region and one of the many beaches in Bali. In the past, this beach is well known to be one of the regions secret beaches because of the location behind a mountainous area that secluded its location to the unknown.

Orientation, sun and shore

JunDecNESW

The shore faces south-south-east (160°). Open water fills about 53% of the horizon close by, which makes it an exposed spot with water on most sides.

The sun sets over the sea in November–January; in mid-December it goes down at 18:33 local time on a bearing of 246°.

Sunrise is over the sea in every month.

Straight out to the south-south-east about 1,200 km of open sea lies before the next coast, enough for large swells to build. The beach is on an island of about 5,394 km².

About 1 km offshore the sea is roughly 18 m deep and 48 m at 3 km. Behind the beach the ground is about 89 m above sea level 500 m inland and 123 m at 1.5 km, so the beach is backed by steep slopes or cliffs.

Within 1 km, the land is 52% grassland, 27% tree cover and 14% built-up land (satellite land-cover map, 2021): a largely natural setting. Water makes up 51% of that circle.
